INFO: How Many Licenses Should I Purchase?

ActiveReports 2.0 for COM is licensed per developer. You will need ONE license for EVERY developer that uses ActiveReports to develop a report. We do offer site licenses which will license the entire physical building. Click here for pricing.

The following actions are considered developing with ActiveReports and require a license for that person:

  1. Developing reports inside the Visual Basic IDE using the ActiveReports designer.
  2. Adding or using any of the ActiveReports components: Report, Viewer, End-User Designer, or Export Filters.
  3. Writing Code accessing any object included in the DataDynamics.ActiveReports namespace.
  4. Installing a licensed version of ActiveReports on a machine where it is integrated within the Visual Basic IDE .

The following actions do NOT require a license:

  1. Licensing ActiveReports on any machine as long as no other person uses that machine for development.
  2. Developing Reports with ActiveReports 2.0 with an evaluation version of the product.
