Polish characters aren't shown in PDF exported document...

Hello,
I created an Active Report that should be displayed in different languages.
The static labels of the report are translated automatically by a component
that I wrote, so that's no problem.
The problem is this. The document is a mail merge. It contains a
newsletter that I want to import at runtime. Therefore I use the RTF
control and his LoadFile method.
Today, I wanted to add a letter for our Polish clients, but the formatting
of the typical characters was messed up...
The Polish language contains a lot of special characters (fe; a l e ...)
These characters are replaced by blanks in the output PDF document. Can I
do something to fix this (encoding...) ?
