03-10-2010, 5:11 AM sander-roxit Joined on 06-03-2009 Posts 7 Reports Designer: Changes made in design mode not represented in Preview mode/ Gone after saving Hi, We have just upgraded our test enviroment to DD reports 1.6.1818.0. But we are running into a problem: This problem occurs when i open a report created in an earlier version of DD reports and which makes use of a masterreport also created in an earlier version.   When i change texts or add content to a table, the changes are not carried over to the preview of the report (so if i simply change the text in a table from 'hello' to 'hi' in design mode, preview mode still shows 'hello'). At first i thought it was just a refresh issue, but to my surprise, after saving the report (including the change) and opening it again, the report reverted to its original - before saving - state again (with 'hello' showing in the table instead of 'hi'). Added datasets or parameters added DO get saved. I noticed that is seems to have something to do with using a masterreport, cause when i make the new report without using the mentioned masterreport, i can't reproduce the problem. Do you have any idea what causes this issue? i really don't feel like redesigning all of our masterreports. Thanks in advance, Sander    Report

03-10-2010, 5:10 PM James Johnson - DD Joined on 01-05-2006 Columbus, Ohio Posts 502 Re: Reports Designer: Changes made in design mode not represented in Preview mode/ Gone after saving Hi Sander, I am not able to reproduce the issue here.  I have tried adding new controls, changing existing ones, removing them, adding new data sources; all are reflected in when I preview and are present after I save and reload the file.  I have tried with newly created reports and by editing our samples. Can you provide us with a copy of the reports that are causing a problem for you, and which controls on it you are trying to change? Thanks, James    Report

I can produce the issue by creating a new report, then selecting the attached file as it's master report. After creating the report and adding just a simple textbox (also occurs with tables or other controls), the controls are not reflected in the preview, nor is their content saved when saving the report and reopening it. As long as the report's Language property is set to Default the changes I make are being reflected in the report. I have entered case 143988 to have this addressed and we will get a maintenance build to you as soon as it is.    Report
