Pivotview in dot net master page

Is it possible to put the datasource into a master page content area. I tried but error message declares the datasource object doesn't exist. Same page works fine without the master page

Hello,

I could not find any way through which we can set the DataSourceID of the PivotView in a Master page. I have added this as a feature request in our system as Case 143524. I have also added your email address to the list of affected users for this case. You will be notified once the build containing an implementation of this case will be released.
