Barcode oddity

Attachment: barcodes.pdf
Hi,

When printing a barcode from the report designer, the bars are thinner than they are when we print the same barcode from the web viewer (or from pdf, for that matter).
Our barcode reader seems to have more difficulty reading the one from the viewer, and it doesnt look as good either. The bars are also closer to the "caption"-text below

I've attached two scanned barcode labels, the top one is printed from the report designer and the one on the bottom is printed from the web viewer

Is there any way to make them look the same?

Hello,
Actually the same code is used to draw the barcode on the PDF document surface and on the printer device, so the problem you faced looks unexpected..However, we will try to reproduce the issue on our side. Can you send RDLX file of the report that hosts the barcode control with which the problem can be repeated?

Here it is.

The difference between printing from designer vs PDF is most noticeable on our
S4M-203dpiZPL Thermo transfer label printer but we can also see a slight difference using a standard laser printer, printing on standard paper as well.

Re: Barcode oddity
Hello,

I am working further on this. When you say designer, do you mean the End User designer or the Viewer?
At my end, I am seeing slightly different results when printing the barcode from the Windows Viewer and from the exported PDF document. It seems to me that the one printed from the PDF document seems to be what you want? Is this correct?
Please confirm the above two points so that I can work further on this one.

It's the end user designer. I havent tried the windows viewer, so it might look the same there

IMO, the one printed from the designer looks "cleaner", and the our barcode reader seems to like it better as well, so we prefer that one

Hello,

We have been able to re-create the issue as far as differences between Designer and WebReportViewer is concerned.
I have entered this as Case 143306 in our system to address this. I have also added your email address to the list of affected users for this case. You will be notified once a build containing a fix for this issue will be released.
