Slow creation of xls

We have an application which generates documents using Active Reports v3 (according to my programmer).
When i generate an invoice, everything is ok as long as i save it as a txt, pdf, rtf or tiff.
Saving as an xls takes ages.
You can se the file being built byte afte byte. (in the export-directory)

No virusscanning is active on the server.

Does anybody know what can cause this slow xls-creation??

Could you provide us with the RDF of report? Here is the help that you would would need to save it. Also let us know the configuration of your computer. Please make sure you try the latest build (5.3.1436.2) which is available here.
