One Touch Printing
Hi,

we think about to buy ActiveReports6 - but first need to know, what one touch printing really means.
We tried this as described here with the tryout-version - but nevertheless the popup to choose a printer appears. We need the feature that printing starts automatically with the default printer (without any user interaction) - is this possible with ActiveReports6?

Kind regards
Martin Zeller

Re: One Touch Printing
Torres,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

First, I would like to apologize because of incorrect documentation that is present on our website regarding one-touch printing.

Our docs are incorrect when it says the following here.  We are working on fixing this immediately.

"5. Run the project to see the report print with no user interaction."

That being said, what you are asking for is not posssible with Flash Viewer control in ActiveReports 6.  This is because of security limitation imposed in flash printing where the dialog will pop up at-least once and there is no way around it.

ActiveX viewer in ActiveReports for .Net 3.0 version supports what you are looking for.  However, with ActiveReports 6 version release, we decided not to support ActiveX viewer anymore.  Primary reasons being security vulnerabilities associated with ActiveX, old technology and very rich rendering that flash provides in addition to the fact that flash is free to download and more than 90% of the computers have it already installed.

Hope that helps and
I apologize once again for the incorrect documentation.
