WebViewer Export to Doc

01-11-2010, 6:13 AM

Hello,

When the user exports a report to a document the tables within a second grouping are not getting output at all. It exports fine to pdf etc though.

One other issue encountered was setting the orientation of the master report to landscape was not sufficient for correct formatting from the webreport viewer. To get this to work propertly the page size had to be set to custom values with the apporpriate height and width set for the landscape page.

Any help with the doc export would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

Hello,
Could you please provide us with the rdlx file of the report which is exported to Word document improperly? The copy of the report's data source would be useful as well.
Also, which build of DDR you use?

Hello Sergey,

Thanks for your response - the version of DDR is 1.5.1052.0

Can you confirm to me then that tables within the second grouping of a banded list export OK into a doc file from the web report viewer? If this is the case then I will try and recreate the problem for you with another report, as for commercial reasons I would rather not send the actual report in question.

Thanks.

Hello,
The version you use is very old. Could you please update the product to the latest maintenance release 1.6.1651.0, it can be downloaded from
ftp://ftp.fpoint.com/ActiveReports/builds/1.6.1651.0.zip and check whether problem disappears?
For the information about maintenance releases see this forum post, the message from James Johnson - DD.

It's the latest version Sergey - this is concerning Data Dynamics Reports not ActiveReports.

Yes, I understand that your question is about DDR and not about AR :)
The link I provided points to DDR build, not AR. The builds of AR and DDR are uploaded to the same folder.
Finally, 1.5.1052.0 is the latest version which is published on web-site.
The maintenance releases are not published on web-site.

Thanks for that Sergey. I've downloaded version 1.6.1651.0 now.

It didn't resolve the problem, but I've worked what the issue was anyway - the detail information was in a table. Once moved into a series of textboxes the report exports fine.

Just to mention I checked the ampersand problem previously listed (Case 139882) and that's still not resolved in this 1.6 version.

Case 139882 was fixed in 1.6 version, but the first build which contains the fix is 1.6.1674.0 which is later than 1.6.1651.0.
I can send you the build containing the fix, just let me know if you need that.

Thanks for letting us know about it's been fixed - could you give us an indication of when the next release is likely? Obviously, we  would prefer not to roll out a maintenance release to our clients if possible.

Hello,
I can't give you any indication of when the next release is knocked out. However, we plan to select the release candidate and perform the thorough sanity checks and product testing this and/or next week. Once it is done we can provide you with the release candidate build.
