Export to Excel not working!!! Help!
|
|
|
|
|
Greetings
We use the script to display the web Dynamicube, but the box to export to Excel does not open, even installing it correctly.
Now install and uninstall Internet Explorer 7 and 8, and even erased the library Comdlg32.ocx and even installing the browser again does not work, nothing works, how to work again?
Thank you in advance.

cristianopo,
Unfortunately, I don't think I completely understand your problem. Is DynamiCube displaying correctly but ExportToExcel method doesn't work? Or your problem related not to DynamiCube control but to other control? Can you please send me sample html with DynamiCube and steps to reproduce the problem so we can look into this together?
Thank you,
Andrey T.

The cube opens normally on the page, but when you click export to Excel gives error and does not open the box to export, no way.
Follows the example page and a cube.
The error dialog says that the object is not defined.
Thank you in advance.

This is the image of the error when clicking the button export to Excel.
Taking advantage: because they will discontinue the Dynamicube? It is an excellent product.

cristianopo,
From your description, sample and screenshot this problem is not related to DynamiCube control but to Dialog control or scripts (it is not displaying). I am not familiar with those scripts (AC_ActiveX.js, AC_RunActiveContent.js) and don't have them so I've modified your sample and removed those scripts. After this, Dialog control opens correctly. See the attached sample.
Thank you,
Andrey T.

Thanks Andrey, but even using the updated and now also in the page for example of Dynamicube is giving same problem as in the Annex.
This is happening by coincidence, which is installed with the Comdlg32.ocx date of 03/23/2009 in others who are working the dates are well before that, some up to 2004.
Even deleting and desregistrando install this DLL and leaving again does not work.
Would not have another way to export the cube to Excel? Or completely uninstall it and install a DLL old?
I appreciate the support again.

cristianopo,
Based on the information on this KB page:
How To Set Up Internet Download for Comdlg32.ocx:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/168917
I've downloaded comdlg32.cab file and checked comdlg32.ocx version and date. They are 6.1.98.16 and March 24, 2009. With this version I am able to open the DynamiCube ShowCase sample and there is no problems with showing common dialog control.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find information what might cause dialog control to stop. Also there is only one method to export DynamiCube to Excel - ExportToExcel method. In your and ShowCase example this method is used after dialog control is showed and user selected folder and entered file name. So this method doesn't execute since you have problems with dialog control itself. I can recommend you to install the previous version of comdlg32.ocx or seek help from Microsoft support about this common dialog control problem.
Thank you,
Andrey T.

cristianopo,
Yes, I've tried to delete Comdlg32.ocx from /System32 folder. After running DynamiCube Showcase sample, Comdlg32.ocx was installed successfully from Microsoft site (though I was asked twice with default IE security settings) and sample worked correctly.
On your screenshot I can see a red cross which means that common dialog control is not installed at all. Try to set all options in IE Security ActiveX sectionto Promt or Enable and accept installation during running sample.
If you are using Internet Explorer 8 it gives users more control over where and in what context ActiveX controls will run. In Internet Explorer 8, ActiveX controls embedded as web objects are presented as add-ons. Through the new Manage Add-ons window users can restrict add-ons to specific websites.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/readiness/developers-existing.aspx#activex
So, I would recommend to try approving Common Dialog on all sites via Manage Add-ons window (IE menu/Tools/Manage Add-ons).
Thank you,
Abdrey T.

Thanks Abdrey.
I did all the procedures you provided, but even in a new format does not work on screen as I sent.
You can see the version of the page and error and with error component in the direction of the mouse.
This version, which is installed directly from Microsoft as it is on page of Datadynamics up that works well is installed, but when you close the browser and reopen it asks to install the Comdlg32 again to the front and then starts the problem.
I do not know else to do ...
Already erased, recorded over, uninstall the component and not, as you can see.
I appreciate any help now.

cristianopo,
Unfortunately I don't know what might cause this problem with ComDlg32 and it is not related to DynamiCube. I can advice you to apply for help to Microsoft support.
Thank you,
Andrey T.

Thanks Andrey.
Contact the support of Microsoft, revealed the error but said not a problem, but the library of the program / component.
We therefore do not know what to do ...
You already tried to do the test to see what does not?
Try to delete your Comdlg32.ocx windows \ system between http://www.datadynamics.com/Products/DC/Showcase/DC3Showcase.html page to make install, you may install that works, but when you close and then open again the page does not export more.
Try this test please, but try on a machine for testing since it does not work, has, to date, and return.

cristianopo,
Yes, I followed the instructions you provided and sample is working properly after second, third, etc. opening. I've prepared a little html sample without DynamiCube. with button which shows Save Dialog when clicked. Could you please test it on your end in the same manner?
Thank you,
Andrey T.

cristianopo,Please note that my previously attached sample is simply shows SaveDialog when you click button and it doesn't contain DynamiCube3 control at all. If you are getting the same error with this sample (Dialog box is not showing) then this is definitely not related to DynamiCube3. Also, DialogBox only allow you to choose the path and file name for .cub file; .cub file is exported by using DynamiCube's ExportToExcel method, i.e.:
dialog.ShowSave() //Show common save dialog fileName = dialog.FileName //Get full file name from dialog if not fileName = "" then DCube.ExportToExcel fileName //export to fileName file end if
So, you can, for example, insert this code snippet and export without showing Save Dialog
DCube.ExportToExcel "C:\1.xls" //export to C:\1.xls
Thank you, Andrey T.
