Data Dynamics is pleased to announce the public release
of Data Dynamics Analysis. This is a ground breaking visual analysis tool written in managed C# 2.0 designed for developers to deliver the next generation of Business Intelligence software. Data Dynamics Analysis allows your users to analyze data using drag and drop operations. Features
- Multidimensional Data: Full support for Analysis Services 2005 data cubes.
- Relational Data: Analyze relational data by configuring a schema to describe your underlying data source. Once the schema is defined, your end users can analyze data however they see fit.
- Quick Find: When dealing with a lot of fields, this feature allows you to begin typing and find the fields quickly and easily.
- Pivot Tables: Build cross tab pivot tables with a few clicks. See our documentation walk throughs for step by step instructions.
- Line Charts: Analyze trends in your data in just a few clicks. Let the encoding shelves split your data up using multiple categorical data.
- Bar Charts: Compare bars horizontally or vertically using simple mouse gestures. Stacked bar charts are easy to create using the various encoding shelves.
- XY Charts:
Perform complex correlation analysis on large amounts of data in a small amount of
space simply by placing measures on row shelf and column shelf and categorical data on the various encoding shelves.
- Paging Data:
Slice your data by dropping fields onto the PageShelf and allow
Data Dynamics Analysis to animate the display with a few clicks.
- Color Encoding: Color encoding is very powerful in any type of marking type. Measures generate gradient color scales, whereas categorical data splits up the colors using multiple color pallettes.
- Shape Encoding: This powerful feature allows you to encode categorical data with various shapes.
- Level of Detail: Split your data up based on any number of dimensions with simple drag and drop operations.
- Card Layouts: Allow your users to move cards around, show and hide cards, and save their locations to disk for a personalized analysis environment.
- Web Control: Give web users the ability to perform complex visual analysis with a feature-rich, AJAX enabled web control.
- Filtering: Filter values and members from your display using
nothing more than your mouse. Supports 'Label Filters', 'Value
Filters', and 'Manual Filters'.
- Quick Filters: Keep filter controls displayed while analyzing your data. Quick filters are very handy when analyzing lots of data points.
- Value Slider: Use the value slider to define numeric data filters without ever touching your keyboard.
- Outline Mode:
This feature allows your view to be displayed by indenting your headings per level, rather
than placing them side by side (ie. block mode).

- Summary Display: Let Data Dynamics Analysis calculate various summations of your selections using this handy card.
- Configurable Actions: Define exactly what your users can and cannot do by setting up the various actions. Check out our sampler for more details.
- Layouts: Generate a view that has meaning and save the settings to XML for later retrieval. This is a very handy feature when dealing with ever changing data.

- Disconnected Cube Files: Save your layout along with its data to a local cube file for a disconnected view of the data anytime, anyplace.
- Auto-Generate Schema: A connection string and
a record source will generate a default schema
definition to allow you to quickly analyze relational data.
- Present Your Data: Find the gems in your data set and then copy your results to the clipboard and paste into your favorite presentation software or send the image through email.

Other enhancements include the ability to cancel long running queries,
updated color palettes, optimized query performance, and the ability to
relocate various shelves anywhere on the PivotView.
Known Issues
- NwindMDB-SalesProductsSuppliers.schema maps to an invalid database location. To fix this, follow these steps:
- Open the schema in a text editor (location: c:\documents and settings\<your name>\my documents\data dynamics\analysis\data sources).
- Change connection string to point to nwind.mdb file in same directory.
- Documentation needs additional updates.
- We have a couple of CR's that need addressed before final release.
