Does the DD Reprorts support a speedometer chart? Or is there any way of supporting such a chart?
(I personally think this is the silliest chart around, however the sales folks love it, so they "must" have it ... ;-)

Unfortunately, Data Dynamics Reports does not support this chart type. However, I have entered a suggestion in our system with a tracking number of CR#25568. Your email address has also been added to this CR, when a build is released which includes an implementation of this suggested feature you will be notified.

Trond,
Thank you for your suggestion and we -the ddReports Product Manager team - agree with you completely, a speedometer is certainly the silliest chart around -if you can actually call it a chart-. I just saw that Jon did his job admirably and entered a suggestion CR for this feature, however, since the PM team agrees with your assessment, we will mark the CR as Deferred and it will not be implemented.
We believe that ddReports should encourage proper data visualization that are not misleading and uninformative. To that extent we are working on exciting report items add-on to be used specifically for data visualization. You will hear about it in the near future.
We hope that when we release and encourage the use of the new add-on that end users will see the light and use these controls as alternatives to the silly speedometers. :)
If you need some ammunition in convincing yoru sales folks, I would recommend and excellent book by Stephen Few called "Information Dashboard Design: The Effective Visual Communication of Data"
