Award-wining ActiveReports technology for .NET, rearchitected from the ground up to provide new BI functionality, end-user reporting tools, business dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as the sophisticated business reporting capabilities developers have long appreciated in ActiveReports. And, to further enhance developer productivity, it’s all tightly integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
Overview of Data Dynamics Reports
"Pretty much all our plans involve Data Dynamics Reports, Data Dynamics Analysis, and ActiveReports, plus we may use other Data Dynamics components as they come out. With the time savings and unique capabilities they provide — plus the great support we get from Data Dynamics — these components are a key part of our strategy." Daniel Reber, Lead Product Architect for Precision.BI
Data Dynamics Reports has rearchitected and redesigned ActiveReports technology from the ground up, not only to make standard report design and customization easier than ever, but also to add business intelligence (BI) features, thus providing a convenient BI adoption route for your reporting users. In addition to standard reporting features, Data Dynamics Reports includes new page- based report designers, new end-user report viewers, and the ability to aggregate dashboards, trend lines, and other new visualization elements. Data Dynamics Reports also supports master templates and report styles—and, aside from Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, it’s the only .NET reporting tool that supports and extends Microsoft’s Report Definition Language (RDL) format.
How is Data Dynamics Reports different from ActiveReports?
- Deeper integration with Microsoft Excel, enabling users to take full advantage of all that Excel has to offer.
- Support for Microsoft's Report Definition Language (RDL) reporting format, with extensions that include reporting themes, reporting templates, and data visualization.
- New end-user report viewer and designer applications for WinForms, enabling end users to easily create their own reports.
- Support for dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs), so end users can get overviews of key data while also viewing the primary display.
- Advanced data visualization features, making it easier to analyze complex data sets.
- Configuration-based customization using VB.NET expressions, to reduce the amount of coding required.
- Reporting templates for master-child reports, enabling developers to provide end users with a set of content and formats they can start with, and enabling report authors to create a consistent look across an entire suite of reports.
- Storage of reporting themes for common styles, colors, and images in a single location to simplify updates.
- Full-page-layout-based reporting, simplifying report design.
- Report drill-down and drill-through capabilities with matrix (crosstab) functionality, enabling end users to analyze data with a high degree of granularity.
- Better support for Microsoft Word, XHTML, and CSS content, enabling end users to export data to a wider variety of formats.
- Better image export to .BMP, .EMF, .GIF, .JPEG, .TIFF, and .PNG formats, giving users more graphics exporting options.
