In this lesson you will learn how to change a view of absolute values into a view which displays values as a percentage of the whole or the percentage of a row or column.
Prerequisites
This lesson assumes that you have a pivot view, displaying a graph or textual data that you wish to view the data as percentages instead of absolute values.
Change the percentage of option
Right click on the view and choose "Percentage of" and then how you wish to group the data prior to calculating the percentage.
The finished results
Once you select one of the grouping options, the display will update to display the data in percentage format. This feature works regardless of whether you are using the text view or one of the graphical encodings! If you group by an option other than Table, orange lines will be displayed on the grid to indicate where each group's boundary is.
