Sort the data in a matrix by fields or expressions.

To sort a matrix

1. In the Layout view, select the matrix, right-click and choose Properties to open the Matrix Data Region smart panel. (Or select a row or column of the matrix, right-click and choose Add Column Group or Add Row Group to open the Row or Column Groups smart panel.)
2. On the Row Groups or Column Groups page, select the group you wish to sort and click the Sorting icon.
   
3. Enter an expression in the Expression column by which to sort the data in the selected row or column group.

4. In the Direction column, select whether you want to sort the data in an Ascending or Descending direction.
