You can add subtotals to the groups in your matrix quickly and easily.

To add subtotals to a matrix

  1. Right-click a row or column group header cell in the matrix. (The row group header is the bottom left cell; the column group header is the top right.)
  2. Select Subtotal. This adds a subtotal column to the right of a column group, or a subtotal row below a row group. In the new column or row, a Total label appears with a green corner.
  3. You can change the text of the label as you would any other textbox by clicking anywhere in the textbox that is not green and entering static text or an expression either directly into the textbox or into the Value property in the property grid.
  4. The summary data is shown in a column to the right of the detail data at run time, or in a row below the detail data, and uses the same formatting as the detail cell. To change the appearance of the summary data, click the green corner of the subtotal cell. MatrixSubtotal1 appears in the drop-down box above the property grid and you can set the properties as you would any other textbox. You cannot, however, change the Value of the subtotal.
