Glossary Item Box

Parameters are used in some reports to narrow down the selection of data displayed. When you open such a report in the Data Dynamics Reports Viewer, you are presented with a user interface like that pictured below. You can select a value for each parameter to display only the data in which you are interested. You may also select NULL to display all available data. Once you have made your selections, click the View Report button to see the report.

Cascading Parameters

For some reports, cascading parameters are used. In this type of report, initially only the first parameter offers a selection of values. Once you select a value for this parameter, the next parameter offers a selection of values which have been narrowed down by the first value, and so on. Once you have made your selections, click the View Report button to see the report.

Multi-Value Parameters

For other reports, multi-value parameters allow you to select more than one item from a list of values to create a report containing only the information you want to see. A value of All is selected by default so that if you click the View Report button without making any selections, all of the values are included in the report.

Once you've selected parameters, the report is displayed and the sidebar pane is hidden. To select different parameters, click the Show or Hide Sidebar Pane icon.
